Excel
So I had never used Excel before taking this class and have realized just how useful it can be to a teacher. Also I've been sort of afraid of it but after using it for so many projects and realized that it's not hard to use. Excel is a great program for what it does. Creating spreadsheets, chart graphs, grade books, and pretty much anything under the sun is quick and easy with Windows Excel. I'd recommend it to any teacher to use who isn't currently using it.
About Me.
I'm Callie Watson, I'm a Sophmore, Music Education major and plan on teaching music to little kids for as long as I can.My plan for using my degree has to do with private teaching violin lessons but I'm wondering if after I finish my degree I'll want to teach in a class room after that. I have been taking Foundations of Ed this semester and it has definitely wet my whistle for classroom teaching but for now I'd really just like to teach music privately. So since I'm not even sure if I'll have a classroom I'll just give you an overview of how I think I could use technology in a music classroom. I had never thought about how my orchestra teacher was using technology in our classroom before because I never saw it. But after taking the Foundations of Ed class I'm realizing that a teacher's life would never exist without technology today. So there are many ways to use it, to make your lesson plans, it's nice to use when you're traveling. But specific ways I could use it for music teaching are, There is a music data base full of music pdf's that I could listen to before I decided to buy them for the music library. Not to mention that a lot of conductor's these days are using Every Note.com for buying music. I can just see myself using technology to research pieces and composers before i choose them for my classroom to perform.
Google Docs
Google Docs is a new tool that I have been using recently. I like being able to have a work in progress document that I don't have to worry about e-mailing to myself or saving to a USB drive if I am working on different computers.
Google Docs is also great for groups, and I am currently using Google Docs to coordinate a group in one of my classes.

About me
My name is Levi Painter, and I plan on teaching math in junior-high or high-school. I would prefer 11th or 12th grade because the math subjects at this level are more fun. I would also like to teach computer science.
Math is traditionally taught with chalk and slate, but there are a few things that technology can do to help out. Overhead projectors are nice, as are Smartboards. However, Smartboards cost around $7,000 and I will be very surprised if I have access to one at a public high-school. For teaching geometry, there is a great software tool called Geometer's Sketchpad which I will most likely use if I ever teach geometry.
Of course, if I am lucky enough to teach computer science, I will be using a lot of technology in the classroom. Computer science is a science that creates technology as well. A computer science class will require computers and intelligent software. Also, for a computer science class a computer projector is almost necessary so that students can watch the teacher write code in real time.

Information about Me
My name is Tonya Westman and I am interested in teaching 2nd or 3rd. I have had the opportunity to intern in a split class all of last year and it was incredible. The classroom incorporated technology in pretty much every subject and I was amazed at the ability of these kids. I plan on using technology for not only my students, but also to keep in contact with the parents and offer them the use of technology as a way to see events and check the progress of their child.
The main tool that I have learned about and plan on incorporating into my teaching is the use of Webquest. I have to admit that it was a struggle to figure out, but once I was able to find a template and look over others, it was a breeze. I think that Webquest has alot to offer the classroom as well as the teachers. It links the teachers in planning and preparation and shares creativity with each other. I have found blogging to be very beneficial not only in the education field but also personally. My sister and her family have one and it's great for family members that don't live close to keep in contact with each other. I hope this blog will be helpful to others as well.
